Myth & Mire

About Myth & Mire

If you’re reading this, something’s already watching.
That’s usually how it starts.

My name is Griswold Cain, and I’ve been collecting curiosities from a place that changes when you look away.
A world of crooked roots, humming fungus, and stories that refuse to end properly.

I don’t map it. I don’t explain it. I just try to write it down before it remembers itself.

What is Myth & Mire?

A repository of fragments.
A lantern for people who enjoy getting lost.

This is a collection of encounters, modules, creatures, items, and ideas—built for storytellers, dreamers, and the occasionally doomed.
I try to make everything system-neutral and modular.

You can use it for tabletop games, writing prompts, late-night brainpickling, or as evidence in your eventual disappearance.

What Kind of Place is This?

Where rivers hoard names.
Where the mud speaks kindly.
Where memory grows back wrong if left alone too long.

These entries aren’t explanations.
They’re field notes from beneath the Veil.
Stories left ajar.
Doors found half-open.

Who Am I?

I don’t fight dragons.
I press my ear to the ground and try to hear what the moss is whispering.
Sometimes it’s just gossip.
Sometimes it’s everything.

I wander. I listen. I forget.
Then I try to remember what it meant.
You’re welcome to borrow anything here—
just be careful what follows.

Why This Exists

Because stories don’t always wait to be told.
Because the strange things are getting braver.
Because someone, somewhere, will need one of these ideas.
Maybe you already do.
